Just thought I would share with you a few of my Lord of the Rings figures but mainly some Gondor ruins I got hold of a few years ago.
They were from Antenocitis workshop but they don't seem to be available now - not sure if you can get them elsewhere. Basically they were sets of plaster stones that can be glued together as desired and painted. I got a few sets and mixed them up (for instance the statue was not in the same set as the ruined dome). I normally use a wash when I paint buildings but I wanted to match the sort of light grey of the buildings in the films and I didn't think a wash would do that. So I sprayed black then used an airbrush to give several layers of grey to get a reasonably realistic effect - given I would not be washing and dry brushing. I based on MDF cut with a jigsaw and used various types of sanding tools to slope the edges (which was a pain!).
