British Peninsular army

Just completed the basing and flags for my last 4 painted battalions. I need a few more things for a full range of Peninsular battles but I can now do most of the scenarios I want (if the Spanish are not present). All figures are Adler.

I have done a couple of posts already and won't repeat those units - they will come together in a scenario report in the future. So my British army is made up of (click links for earlier posts):
The latest post has:
  • 2 highland battalions (92nd);
  • 10 line battalions (3x 40 man, 4x 32 man and 3x 24 man units);
  • 2 9pdr foot batteries;
  • 2 heavy dragoons (one in bicorne and one in helmet);
  • 1 hussar regiment;
  • 3 6pdr horse batteries (or 2 if 3 gun batteries);
  • a bunch of command stands (a more detailed post on just them here).
Buildings are Timecast 6mm Southern European range. Road are made by me using some cobble styrene sheets and plasticard.

  1. Good stuff Steve.

    Unless I'm mistaken you have your Union colours and the Regimental colours the wrong way round.

    1. whoops. I think I was reading the diagram in the Waterloo Companion the wrong war round. Although I still managed to get the grenadier and light companies at the right end for the 40 man battalions. Perhaps something to fix in the future - couldn't face removing the flags now though!

    2. It's an error I've made in the past which is why I try very hard to get it right now.

      Remember that British Guards are reversed in this case.

    3. My mate finished flagging all the Waterloo battalions only to notice this error so it's common enough

  2. Guards are one of the things on the list to fill out the army so will watch out for that - don't want to correct my mistake on later battalions and as a result get the Guard wrong as well!

    1. Looking rather fine. The buildings really are good too. Watch out for guard flags.. They are the other way round to line troops..
