Warhammer 40K Chaos space marines

I thought I would do a quick post of these Chaos marines from Warhammer 40K. I started a few armies when my son was into this but only really got anywhere with Dark Angels and to a lesser extent Tau. I am keeping those but clearing out all the unmade stuff as just sitting there. I only did these two for Chaos (and a part painted Defiler) and while I enjoyed doing them and think they look very nice my display cabinets are bursting at the seems so I will get selling them off on ebay. So this is more for posterity and to remind me before they head off!

They are Red Corsairs, one marine and an Aspiring Champion

The unit marking on the shoulder guard is hand painted - I prefer doing that to using decals.

I have a few other 40K posts, just click on the Warhammer 40K label on the top right.

Warhammer 40k Dark Angel Command squad, with variants

I have done a number of different variants for my command squad to give me flexibility including a couple of conversions:

Some veterans with bolter and the one guy with power sword:

The Apothecary:

Standard Bearer:

And a couple of guys with power weapons left over from the Terminators - I don't like waste and I do love converting!

Warhammer 40K Dark Angel Dreadnoughts

My three Dreadnoughts for my Dark Angel army. The first one is from an army box set while the second two are from the Assault on Black Reach starter set.

So some close ups of the the one from the army deal:

And the two from the Assault on Black Reach starter (you only get one, but I bought two sets!):

Warhammer 40K Dark Angel Land Raiders

Here is a part of my Dark Angel army - 3 Land Raiders.

I did one with the front door opening (it closes as well!). It was a real pain to do, particularity getting the painting done having to do the inside part way through building, but I regret doing the others glued shut once it was finished. I have stuck various bits of Dark Angel paraphernalia on the vehicles - gives them a nice feel. One of my marine squads is disgorging from the front Land Raider. To note I hand painted the Dark Angel insignia I was having too much trouble with getting the decals to stick flat and to say on.

Warhammer 40K - Ork Warboss

Here is another of my "something different" occasional posts. The plastic Ork Warboss from the Warhammer 40k starter set - Assault on Black Reach. I really enjoyed painting this guy, lots of detail and different colours and textures.
